Positioned and sheltered by the majestic imposing of the most beautiful peaks of the Ortles-Cevedale Group, which include Mount Zebrù (meters 3740) and the sharp west ridge of the Gran Zebrù (Suldengrat). This is where the Quinto Alpini Hut is located.

Nested in a breathtaking setting, and surrounded by an impressive mountain range; it opens to the south towards the group of the Confinale, in the background with the sharp peak above Bormio, the Cima Piazzi, and on the Swiss side is the most impressive summit of the Riche Alpine Bernina Group (meters 4036 – 4049).

The Quinto Alpini Hut overlooks the valley, allowing the guests to observe the many protected animal species present in the Stelvio National Park, including Ibexes, Deers, Stoats, and a couple of bearded vultures who have been nesting in the Zebrù Valley for years.

The Hut is immersed in the calm and wild Zebrù Valley, and is the destination and base camp location for families, hikers and mountain climbers. The rustic rooms (50 persons capacity) are equipped with warm duvets.

In 2009, on the initiative of Assorifugi Lombardia (Lombardy Refuges Management Association) and with the contribution of the Lombardy Region, the Refuge has provided several QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS on catering, quality of service and enhancement of local specialties.
